The BHG Research Library houses our collection of resources relating to the history of Brisbane and the surrounding region. Its core is the research material accumulated by historian Dr Rod Fisher during his academic career. Now holding over 11,000 catalogued items it continues to grow with new and recent publications. The full database may be accessed in the library, or by downloading the limited field versions for hard copy and digitised material and using the pdf search function.
Both members, and the general public are welcome to access the material which includes published books, periodicals, various studies, maps and digitised items. It is operated as a research library.
From 1st June 2024 the library will be located in the Northern Cell Block of the heritage listed Witton Barracks, 9 Lambert Road, Indooroopilly (just adjacent to the railway station). It is intended for it to be open some part of Tuesdays and Thursdays depending on volunteer availability, so please check before making the trip (contact bhgresearchlibrary@gmail.com with your details).
